The Kids Behind Threads: Luis

Email your pictures of Threads to Ashley.theshineproject@gmail.com and tag us on instagram @theshineproject!
Today we're introducing you to another Threads student employee, Luis. If you missed the last one click here.

My name is Luis, and I want to be someone successful in life. I'm not a person that gives up because I know hard work pays off. I have been working hard ever since I was little. I was ranked in the top 2% of my graduating high school class this year. I come from a background where both of my parents didn't receive a college education or pursue their dreams. My goal is to be able to pursue my dreams for both my beautiful parents and myself as well. I would love to major in communication and later on, with God's help, become a broadcaster. This has been a long time dream because in eighth grade I used to give the  morning announcements. Every day in the morning, I would deliver the announcements and wake everyone up with smiles and laughter. It makes me very glad to do that because I love smiling...

Luis is also a baseball player and will be attending Grand Canyon State University in the fall. He received a Shine Scholarship last year, and is one of the most polite and respectful kids that I have ever met. He makes amazing bracelets, including these, these, and these.

To support Luis and the rest of the Threads student employees, you can purchase bracelets here.
