Getting Inspired by Designer Taylor Morgan

If you want to feel inspired,
then read this post.
My friend Taylor Morgan Hartley is a motivated fashion designer
who gives me courage to go after my dreams.
I promise you'll connect with her as you watch her journey...
Head on over to her BLOG after you read her post,
so you can continue following what this amazing woman is doing!

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Morgan and I am a wedding dress & fashion designer. I went to fashion design school in LA at The Art Institute. After my wedding in June 2009 and a move to Austin for my husband's job, I decided it was time to start my wedding dress line "Taylor Morgan." I started by buying my name, copyrighting my work and getting my wholesalers license. Shortly after, I flew to NYC to meet with potential fabric wholesalers. It was a jammed packed 5 days of meetings all over the city but I was thrilled to get going.

A lot of people were surprised at how young (21 at the time) I was and didn't take me to seriously. I mean after all, how many young girls want to be fashion designers? I however am not like most and I wasn't going to let anyone discourage me. I make my dreams happen. If there is one thing you should know about me it's my dedication. So I took a chance and here is a video to show the start of it all...

After NYC I went right to work on my first bridal collection. I made the collection in LA for the most part. It was just easier since that's where I was from and had a lot of connections. Finally, after a lot of hard work and many sleepless nights sewing my life away, Taylor Morgan was launched on September 1, 2010. Here is a video to see my journey from then to now....

Now that my line is out and selling, I am already on to the next thing. I thought I would only design bridal but I was wrong. My next line to launch will be my Taylor Morgan Veils followed by ready to wear dresses for women (I like to think of them as "Sunday dresses"). All of my lines will be sold exclusively online at taylormorgandesign.com.

The next chapter of my life is about to be the most exciting of all. Once I decided I wanted to do women's wear I quickly realized I needed to continue my education so I can take Taylor Morgan to the level I want to. So I recently applied to my dream school The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC! I find out around April 1st if I will be accepted. Whether or not I get in I will continue to pursue my dreams for Taylor Morgan. I know NYC is where I have to be to take Taylor Morgan all the way.

I hope to inspire people every where to go after their dreams and to never give up. That's why I share all of my journey on my blog, the good and the bad, to give people faith in themselves. I can't wait to share my experiences as I move to the big apple and broaden my horizons. I can't wait to see whether or not I get accepted into FIT. Whatever the outcome I will continue fighting for my dream and documenting it on my blog to share with the world a journey of a girl with a dream.

Love this story! It's so inspiring to hear about someone my age, being so successful! It really takes guts to go out and do something like that. Thanks so much for sharing! I especially love her designs. They are so classic, nothing like the sleezy stuff you see these days. I had to spent months searching before I found a dress with sleeves. Everything is strapless and shows off your back and chest..
