Memorial Day began after many soldiers lost their lives during the Civil War as a way to celebrate their service. We continue the same fight today as we did back then for peace, justice, and equality. I am GRATEFUL to live in a land colored with freedom, opportunity, and the ability to dream as high as we deem possible. Many people in other countries will never have the resources that we do for success, but this has come with a price. To all of you service men and women, and to those who's spouses are defending our country and the lives that dot it,
THANK YOU.
I can't imagine what you go through, the sacrifices you make, and the fear you might feel, but I hope you know that there are millions and millions of people who are eternally grateful for your courage and bravery. Today, and everyday, our thoughts go to you. GOD BLESS YOU!
I am seriously PROUD to be an AMERICAN!
What makes YOU proud?

Beautiful post - I am so proud of those who've served. My dad was in the Navy and I was taught to appreciate how wonderful and how blessed our country is! God has truly blessed America - my son-in-law is getting ready to serve in Afghanistan - this is so close to home now - I am proud of him and of my daughter.
Hope you have a blessed Memorial Day,
Kathy
Thank you so much. This is beautiful. My husband is in the military and will be leaving soon for Afghanistan and this means a lot. We are all very blessed for what the soldiers do for our country.
Have a great Memorial Day,
